Client: Town of Ryebrook, NY

Schedule/Budget Management | Vanguard was required to inspect 250 manholes before the end of October 2024. By efficiently managing the workload, they were able to finish all inspections in only two weeks.  With regards to the schedule and budget, there were no challenges for the schedule or budget.

Quality Management | The quality of the report was overseen by the President of Vanguard to make sure all was included in the report. There were no challenges.

Stakeholder Input | Stakeholder input played a vital role in the successful execution of the Vanguard Ryebrook manhole inspection project. Working closely with the town of Rye Brook, Vanguard ensured that the project was aligned with the town’s requirements and environmental goals. The town needed detailed and accurate manhole inspection data to demonstrate compliance with environmental regulations and to prove that their infrastructure did not contribute to the contamination of the Long Island Sound. By maintaining open lines of communication and involving town representatives in scheduling and flagging operations, Vanguard was able to efficiently coordinate daily activities and minimize disruptions to the local community. The collaborative effort not only facilitated timely completion of the inspections but also guaranteed that the resultant reports met the stringent standards required by the environmental group overseeing the project. This comprehensive engagement with stakeholders underscored Vanguard’s commitment to transparency, accuracy, and community-focused service delivery.

Innovation | Key innovations included the use of the Envirosight 360-degree Lidar Camera paired with WinCan software. This combination allowed precise and detailed inspections, capturing high-resolution images and videos that revealed structural defects, service lateral locations, and signs of Infiltration & Inflow (I&I). The unique delivery of the final report through an electronic link to the client’s project platform within the software streamlined the review process, ensuring quick and easy access to inspection data. The integration of advanced lighting and centering techniques further enhanced the quality of the inspections, while a systematic approach involving a field technician for on-site data collection and an administrator for report compilation ensured efficient project execution. The meticulous oversight by the company president guaranteed the highest quality standards were met, reflecting Vanguard’s commitment to excellence in the public water sector. These innovations not only facilitated the timely completion of the project but also provided valuable insights that will benefit future collaborations with DDC.
